Daily Workout 1/13/10


After finishing up with the box jump/ball slam met con.

Workout of the Day
Work up to a 3RM on back squat
100kg x 8
120kg x 6
130kg x 4
110kg x 7
125kg x 5
140kg x 2 (Failed on the 3rd rep.  A PR for a 2RM though!)

Then,

Hang pull 3×5 @ 120kg

Then,

Five rounds for time:
6 box jumps 30″
15 ball slams 20#

Time – 4:15

Finished up with some handstand push-up work.

Notes:  Another great day today!  This week has also been the start of a new semester, so it feels great to have everything going so well right now.  Regarding the squat workout, I never really realized how lifting in kilos kind of messes with your head after spending so much time lifting in pounds.  It feels good to make the transition though.  I haven’t squatted in what feels like a long time (well over a month) so it feels good to get back to this lift and still improve from last time.  The met con workout was good today too.  A TON of opening and closing the hips which is a necessity for not only Oly lifting but really any athletic movement.
